Opis mesta: The capital city of Italy, Europe. Gladiators, Arenas, Roman Empire, Marco Polo are just a few words that make us remind of this great city with incredible historical heritage that goes back centuries and centuries. Two and a half thousand years to be exact. This town with over 2,7 million with another million if you look at the whole metropolis area is located on the western coast on the Tiber river. It used to be the capital of Roman Kingdom, Roman Republic and Roman Empire, has been a seat of Papal States, Kingdom of Italy, has been a site of the Vatican City since 1929 and the capital of Italian Republic since 1946.

Rome is a must for all tourists traveling to Southern Europe especialy to the Italian Peninsual or the Mediterranean Sea. If you're in Slovenia, Rome is only 7 hours away, if you're in Southern France even less. There's about 8,5 hour drive from Zurich Switzerland.

Rome has been a 1960 Olympic host, been an official candidate for the 2020 games, it's been the 11th most visited city in 2007, its historic center is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site there's plenty of museums, churches, attractions, accommodations, hotels you can be interested in when traveling to the capital.
