Cala Millor is a reasonably sized tourist destination on the Spanish Balearic Island of Mallorca.Cala Millor has a population of 5,665 inhabitants. It is the largest tourist development on the east coast of the island. It is situated on the island's east coast, a little more than an hour's drive from the capital, Palma de Mallorca. Nearly all shop keepers and receptionists speak some degree of English, with many also speaking a limited amount of German. Many UK tour operators sell package deals to the resort. Cala Millor (which means "Better Bay") is also situated close to the tourist resorts of Sa Coma and Cala Bona ("Good Bay"). Restaurants in the centre and on the seafront make for a lively but family friendly atmosphere. The nearby beach is positioned to be one of the best on the island. The island's main airport, Son Sant Joan International, on the east side of Palma de Mallorca, is 70 kilometers south of Cala Millor. The first tourist accommodation, the Hotel Eureka was built in 1933. At present the town has 61 hotels and about 65 self-catering apartments. The beach at Cala Millor is 1.8kilometre long.On average it has got an amplitude of 30m to 35m. The beach has all the amenities that you would expect on a tourist beach and many different people from many different countries come here to sample the warmth and sunshine of the biggest island in Spain.
