Opis mesta: Celje (German Cilli, Latin Celeia), with about 50 039 inhabitants (2010), the fourth largest city in Slovenia. It covers an area of 24 km ². Celje is also one of the eleven municipalities of the country (see Subdivisions).<br><br>
The city of Celje is situated on the Savinja (Sann) in the southeastern part of the Celje basin - about 70 km northeast of the capital Ljubljana (Ljubljana). It is the economic center of the region and a junction between Ljubljana in the West, Maribor (Maribor) in the north, Zidani Most (Steinbrück) in the south, Velenje (Wöllaner) and Slovenj Gradec (Windischgratz) in the northwest and Rogaška Slatina (Rohitsch -Sauerbrunn) in the east.<br><br>
