Pictured during 3 visits to the ultra impressive Battle of Stalingrad Memorial complex and the home of the massive "Mother of Russia" statue during February & March 2008. The City of Volgograd (Formerly Stalingrad) were welcoming visitors from through out the World for the 65 year anniversary of the battle when the Russians fought the Nazi's back to Berlin and their eventual surrender after the suicide of Adolf Hitler

Volgograd, known as Stalingrad in WWII has a lot of history. Major WWII battle was fought there.

Stalingrad: the capital of WWII fighting. There used to be fierce battles going on between the red army and the nacists. Fighting house by house, many times happened one house would be captured and recaptured several times a day... Incredible how it has changed from post Soviet era.
